Goodbye Lisa Beans

Goodbye Lisa Beans

About a month ago the world lost a wonderful person who I’d like to take the opportunity to tell you about. Her name was Lisa J. Vitale, and she passed at 26 in a tragic accident. I want to tell you about her because she was wonderful artist as well as person and it just feels a shame that we will never see any more work from her. This loss was deeply personal for me, as she was my cousin, so I wanted to pay tribute and share some of her work with you.

She was a student at the time of her death and she would frequently use herself as a model. One could call her a selfie master. Her work could be edgy and dark as well as whimsical, with a urban vibe and a smidge of rock & roll that perfectly reflected the time and place she grew up. I had looked forward to seeing how she would progress and mature in her work, but I’m glad I got to enjoy it while she was here. Some exaples are below and if you want to see more you can view her instagram page.
